Winter Wellness for Your Fave Feline Friend
Keep your cat cosy, hydrated, and active this winter with our top tips
Winter can be a challenging time for cats, especially when it comes to staying active and hydrated. Whether your cat is a curious adventurer or a homebody, there are simple ways to support their health and wellbeing during the colder months.
Follow our tips to keep your cat healthy during winter:
1. Encourage indoor enrichment
Shorter days and chilly weather might mean your cat spends more time indoors. Help keep them entertained with toys that mimic prey, puzzle feeders, or interactive play sessions. Scratching posts and climbing trees can also help them stay active.
2. Create cosy spots
We all know how much cats love warmth! Provide comfy beds in sunny spots or near radiators (but not too close). Heated pads designed for pets can be a great option for senior cats or those with joint stiffness.
3. Hydration is key
Dry air from indoor heating can lead to dehydration. Encourage drinking by adding water bowls around your home or investing in a cat fountain. Mixing a little wet food into their diet can also boost hydration.
4. Regular health checks
Winter can sometimes exacerbate hidden health issues, especially in older cats. A quick health check can help spot early signs of arthritis, dental problems, or other conditions, so you can take action sooner. Get in touch and we'll help arrange a health check for you.
